I would start taking the free Staten Island Ferry. Just for the ride. Then going to Central Park and walk around the area. Then if you have time going to the HighLine, or the West Village. If you are into Museums, definitely going to the Metropolitan Museum or MoMA.. This itinerary sounds good…
Cheers!
If you’re looking to go budget take a round trip ride on the Staten Island Ferry, it’s free and you see the Statue of Liberty. The high line is great in warmer weather and hit up Chelsea market
There is so much good food, it’s hard to narrow down. Check the website “The Infatuation”. They review lots of new and amazing restaurants and I use it a lot to find places. It also has specific guides for things like cafes, bars and best new restaurants.
thanks! Got me at "free" haha
apparently katz deli is all the rage for NY visitors—i’ve lived here all my life and never been, tho so can’t speak to its goodness. if you’re here in the summer gallow green and loopy doopy are can’t miss rooftops. dos caminos is great mexican. mother of pearl is a really cute restaurant with…
Chelsea market sounds great! Anything special I should look to buy? Can I find cool uniquely nyc gifts there?
taking notes!! Rooftops are my jam, thanks for these!
If you want to venture into Brooklyn (it’s not far by subway) there are a lot of new rooftop bars with amazing views of the city such as Westlight and the Wythe Hotel.
At Chelsea market, I mostly go for the food stuffs. Either at the end of my walk or to picnic on the highline. But there are some shops that you can get souvenirs.
Depends when you’re going - but assuming the weather is good I’d do the high line, west village, Central Park, get a citibike and ride along the west side highway, lots of great rooftop bars with great views as others have suggested. And of course the food. Lots of good eats in nyc
Love Chelsea market and the Highline. Also, if you can get a tour of 30 Rockefeller Center, do it. It’s really cool to see where they tape the shows and history!
oh, nice! That's a great show!
any hidden gem spot in Central park?
I like that spot a lot. I also like the great lawn for people watching.
thanks, will check it out!
I would either hit the Highline and then jump on the L to hit Williamsburg or go to Soho bounce around West Broadway and head east into the Lower East Side...check out my blog HuntersHotAndHipNYC@Wordpress.com for a number of spots including Restaurants, Bars, Art galleries and some stores
If you are there during the summer, Coney Island is a blast. Have a Nathan's hot dog and ride the Cyclone. Central Park is great year round. Soho and the village are just stops as well....
