If you are a fellow book-worshipper, has Maastricht got a place for you! This former cathedral has been converted into a secular and spectacular bookstore that is a perfect place to go and lose yourself in for a while. I found their section on the avant-garde CoBrA (Copenhagen, Brussels, Amsterdam) movement especially fascinating and wished that I’d had more room in my carry-on for their stellar selection of art books. They’ve also got a music and video section, a lovely spot for the little ones and a nice cafe.
